Verification

Gate server access with button or captcha verification​

Overview​

The Verification module prevents bots and unverified accounts from accessing your server. New members must complete a one-click button check or solve an image captcha before receiving access. Raid protection automatically pauses verification if an unusual number of members join within a short window, giving staff time to respond.

Setup​

  1. Run /settings verification to open the Verification settings.
  2. Click Set Channel and choose the channel where the verification panel will be posted. Keep this channel visible to everyone but restrict access to the rest of the server using role permissions.
  3. Click Set Role and choose the role members receive after verifying. Ensure Aether's bot role is positioned above this role in server settings.
  4. Click Set Mode and choose either Button (one-click, no challenge) or Captcha (image-based challenge).
  5. (Optional) Click Raid Threshold to configure how many joins per minute trigger auto-pause. Default is 10.
  6. Click Enable to activate the module.
  7. Click Send Panel to post the verification panel to the configured channel.

Usage​

Once configured:

  • Button mode — Members click the Verify button. The bot immediately grants the configured role.
  • Captcha mode — Members click Get Captcha. The bot sends an ephemeral image with a 6-character code. The member clicks Enter Code, types the code, and submits. On a correct answer the role is granted. On failure they can request a new captcha.
  • Raid protection — If the join rate exceeds the configured threshold within one minute, verification automatically pauses and a warning is posted in the verification channel. Staff resume verification via /settings verification → Resume Verification.

Commands​

There are no standalone commands for this module. All configuration is handled through /settings verification.

/settings verification​

  • Description: Opens the Verification settings menu for this server.
  • Parameters: None.
  • Permissions: Administrator.
  • Available On: Both.
